Recently, I visited a restaurant called Stissington House in New York State, and it felt special from the moment I arrived. Surrounded by quiet countryside, the old and beautiful building exuded a warm and cozy atmosphere. The entire place felt thoughtful and welcoming, with neatly set tables and a soft, calm ambiance that made me want to linger.

Ham with Spicy Mustard:

The ham was stacked in thick, tender slices that appeared incredibly juicy and fresh. Each bite was super tender and smooth, with a cozy, salty flavor. The mustard, however, was intensely spicy, adding a smoky and bold taste that was too much for me. Despite this, the ham was perfect on its own.

Rating -  7/10  The ham was delicious, but the mustard was way too spicy for me."

Oysters:

The oysters were large and chilled on the ice, with a shiny and tender appearance inside their shells. They tasted salty and fresh, with a smooth texture. The lemon added a bright, sour taste that made them even more refreshing.

Rating - 8.5/10 SO GOOD but I wish there had been horseradish

Pickled vegetables:

The pickled vegetables were balanced and crunchy, with a gentle, clean pickled flavor. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, with a juicy and tender interior and a thin, crispy layer on top. The halibut was cooked just right, with a smoky char on the outside and a soft, flaky interior. The green sauce added extra flavor and richness, making the dish even more delicious.

Rating - 9/10 YUMMY and perfectly pickled

Chicken with vegetables:

The chicken was perfectly seasoned, and when I cut into it, the inside was juicy and tender. When I chewed it, the chicken was chewy but not too chewy, which made it really nice to eat. The flavor lingered in my mouth, and every bite was warm and savory. It felt filling and comforting, and the chicken did not feel dry at all.

A thin, crispy layer on top provided a delightful crunch, and that part was my favorite. Underneath, the chicken remained soft and juicy. The vegetables added extra flavor, making the dish taste brighter and more interesting. Everything worked really well together, and it tasted carefully cooked and truly delicious.

Rating - 9.8/10 LITERALLY COULD BE PERFECT.

Halibut:

he halibut was really delicious, and you could tell it was cooked just right. The outside had a nice char, imparting a slightly smoky taste, while the inside was soft and flaky. The seasoning was evenly spread, making the fish taste warm and savory without masking the natural flavor. Each bite was gentle and juicy, and the fish flaked apart easily with my fork.

The green sauce underneath added extra flavor and a slight kick to the halibut. When I dipped the fish into it, the sauce made everything taste brighter and richer. It enhanced the flavor and made the halibut even more delicious. Together, the fish and sauce were delicious and carefully prepared, making it the kind of dish that made me want to savor every bite. Rating - 9.5/10 AMAZEBALLS but not my favorite.
