COME WITH ME ON A PIZZA ADVENTURE IN NYC TO CHECK OUT THE BEST SPOTS.
Joe’s Pizza on Fulton St: The mozzarella and tomato pizza at Joe’s has a crust that is super thin, crunchy, and crisp, the kind you can hear when you bite into it. The cheese melts smoothly into the bright tomato, and the whole slice already tastes flavorful and delicious on its own. But once I sprinkled garlic powder on top, it became even more flavorful—like the pizza was good before, but the garlic powder turned it into something sharper and tastier. It was also a little oily, which made the edges almost glisten under the light, but the slice still held together without flopping around.
If I had to pick, I’d say the best pizzas to get at Joe’s are either the mozzarella and tomato or the plain cheese. Both feel the freshest, without toppings that take over or make it too complicated. The mozzarella and tomato pizza especially has that perfect mix where nothing overpowers the other, and with the garlic powder boost, it really feels like everything is balanced just right. It’s simple, but it’s the kind of pizza that makes you want to grab another slice before you’ve even finished the first.
Rating: 9.5/10 SOOOO GOOD AND CRUNCHY AND THE GARLIC POWDER MAKES IT NEXT LEVEL

F & F Pizza: The F & F cheese pizza feels like comfort food the moment you pick it up. The crust is soft and warm, almost pillow-like, but with a chewy pull that makes each bite last in the best way. It has this fluffy texture inside that reminds you of fresh-baked bread, while the outside has just enough strength to hold the cheese and sauce together. When you bite in, you can taste both worlds at once—it’s got the airy, light qualities of a Neapolitan pizza, but also the sturdier, foldable bite of a New York slice. The cheese stretches in smooth ribbons, blending with the bright, slightly tangy sauce so it feels melty and fresh with every bite.
What makes it really stand out is how alive the flavors taste. The freshness is almost surprising—you notice it right away as the warmth of the slice hits your mouth. The sauce doesn’t drown out the cheese, and the crust adds a cozy bread-like finish that ties it all together. Each bite feels soft but still satisfying, chewy but never heavy. It’s the kind of pizza that makes you pause for a second after the first bite because it just feels right, like the exact way cheese pizza should taste when it’s done perfectly simple.
Rating: 8.5/10 DELICIOUS but the only cheese pizza is really good in my opinion but YOUR CHOICE

Lucali Pizza: The Lucali’s cheese pizza looks like it should be in a picture on a fancy Italian food page, with the crust puffing up around the edges like soft little clouds. When you pick up a slice, it feels warm and light, and the bottom has this quiet crunch that you only hear once you bite into it. The inside of the crust is super fluffy, almost like bread that just came out of the oven, but the whole pizza is thinner than a regular Neapolitan one, which makes it feel easier to eat. The sauce and cheese blend together instead of sitting in layers, so each bite feels smooth, stretchy, and warm, and you can actually see tiny brown spots on the cheese from the heat which makes it look like it got toasted just right.
The best part is how flavorful it is without adding anything on top. I usually grab garlic powder or pizza flakes without even thinking, but this time I didn’t need a single sprinkle. It already had this natural, rich taste that made the cheese and sauce feel like they were telling a whole story by themselves. The only annoying thing is that you have to wait forty-five minutes to one hour just to get your pizza. IT'S SO IRRITATING AND THERE IS SUCH A LONG LINE MOST OF THE TIME IF YOU WANT TO DINE IN THE RESTAURANT, and you kind of sit there checking the time over and over because it feels like forever. But once it finally arrives and you take your first bite, the wait doesn’t matter anymore because the crust is warm and fluffy, the bottom stays crisp, and everything tastes like they made it exactly the way pizza is supposed to taste. Rating: 9.2/10 DELICIOUS AND FLAVORFUL but usually there’s a LONG LINE or LONG WAIT which can be annoying since I’m a kid

John of Bleecker Street Pizza: The mozzarella slice from John’s of Bleecker Street feels like the definition of a real New York pizza. The crust is thin, but not that bendy, floppy kind that collapses in your hand. When you pick it up, it stays straight with a little crisp snap at the bottom, almost like it was baked just long enough to get that perfect golden base. There’s no fluffy dough at all and no soft, puffy edges like Neapolitan pizzas have. Instead, the crust feels firm and classic, like the kind you can fold and walk with, but still hear a tiny crunch when you bite in. The cheese melts across the top in a smooth layer with light browning around the edges, and the sauce hides underneath, giving you flavor in every bite without dripping everywhere.
Eating it feels like the slice knows exactly who it is. The cheese, sauce, and crust all come together in a way that tastes clean and balanced, like the flavors are lined up instead of stacked. It doesn’t taste fancy or experimental, it just tastes right, like what people imagine when they talk about classic NYC pizza. And honestly, in my opinion, John’s of Bleecker Street isn’t just one of the best spots in New York City—it’s probably the best in the whole state, because it nails that traditional style without trying to act like anything else. It’s the kind of pizza that makes you want to finish your slice and then immediately grab another one without thinking.
Rating: 9.8/10 AMAZEBALLS, DELICIOUS, FLAVORFUL & LOOKS AND TASTES JUST LIKE A TRADITIONAL NY STYLE PIZZA IT WAS AWESOME AND SO WORTH IT!

So in conclusion, I think F&F, Joe’s, John of Bleecker Street, and Lucali are all AMAZING and DELICIOUS and actually quite different, but I think the best pizza place in Brooklyn has to go to… Lucali and the best pizza place in Manhattan is… Joe’s, and the best pizza place OVERALL has to go to… John of Bleecker Street. I think Joe’s, and John of Bleecker Street are BOTH worth the HYPE AND BOTH WORTH TRYING AND BOTH WORTH VISITING!!!
