Hello and welcome back to the Mini Foodie! Today I’m going to tell you about an awesome and yummy food experience I had at a Danish restaurant in Copenhagen called Barr. Grab your forks and knives because you’re about to dive into my super cool food review of the best stuff I ate!
Waffles with Löjrom:
The waffles were warm and fluffy, with crispy edges that made a little crunchy sound when I bit into them. Inside, they were light and soft, kinda like little pillow clouds you can eat. They smelled buttery and toasty, like a cozy breakfast in the morning. Next to the waffles was this bright orange löjrom that sparkled like tiny shiny beads. It came with creamy crème fraîche and little green herbs that looked like they were just for decoration, but actually made everything taste fresher. The dip was soooo tasty! The roe made a gentle pop when you bit into it, tasting salty and rich, and the cream made it smooth and soft. The herbs added a fresh garden flavor. When I spread it on the waffle, it was totally amazing. The warm, sweet waffle with the salty roe and silky cream made each bite feel fancy but cozy at the same time—like something you'd want to savor slowly so it lasts longer.

Winter Wonderland:
The Winter Wonderland plate looked so cool, like it was a work of art you shouldn’t touch... but I did! Right in the middle was the beef schnitzel, golden and crunchy on the outside, kind of like crunchy leaves, and when you cut into it, it made a soft crunching sound. The meat was juicy and super tender, almost like it was melting in my mouth, and it didn’t taste greasy or fried at all—it felt light but still full of flavor. Next to it was a cucumber yogurt salad, piled high with fresh dill on top. The cucumbers were crunchy and juicy, with that clean, watery snap when you bite into them. The yoghurt dressing was cool and tangy, like a refreshing breeze on a spring day. The dill made everything taste super fresh. It went really well with the schnitzel and the tangy yogurt. There was also a bright yellow lemon in a little fish-shaped squeezer, perfect for squeezing some extra zing onto the dish. Just one squeeze made everything taste even better and more lively!

Shrimp Open-Faced Sandwich:
The shrimp open-faced sandwich looked almost too pretty to eat, but I couldn’t resist! When I took a bite, it was like a burst of fresh, sea-like flavor. The shrimp weren’t old or rubbery at all—they were plump, tender, and fresh, like they just came from the ocean that morning. Every bite was packed with so much flavor, I wanted to slow down and enjoy it longer. On top was fermented cabbage with a tangy kick that made everything taste even brighter, like it woke up the shrimp even more. It wasn’t too sour, just the right amount of zing. There was also a soft, runny egg on top, like a tiny crown. The yolk was perfect—runny but not too soft or hard—just right. Under all that was fresh, soft bread that didn’t taste stale at all. All the layers worked perfectly together, giving me tender shrimp, tangy cabbage, silky egg, and soft bread that felt fancy but also super comforting.
