To celebrate Chinese New Year we went to Chop Suey for lunch and it was so cool! š¤©
The restaurant is very pretty and the black and white style is elegant. My mother says itās very Art Deco. As soon as we walked in, there was a big flower arrangement that was so beautiful and it was decorated with lots of little orange paper rabbits, which was perfect for Chinese New Year since it is the year of the rabbit. š§§š

We started off with dumplings and I got to try 5 different kinds! It was so fun trying them all. The 5 different kinds of dumplings we had were Char Siu Pao, Traditional Har Gao, Seared Prawn and Spinach Dumplings, Crispy Lobster Wontons, and Prawn Toasties. My favorite dumpling was the Char Siu Pao. It was filled with pork meat and it was juicy and delicious! š¤¤

We also ordered the honey ginger chicken and I was a bit worried it might be too spicy because of the ginger. But it was the best thing we had! It was so juicy and tender and sweet and delicious! I was so surprised but I loved it. š For veggies we had the Chop Suey plate. It was ok, but I didn't like the mushrooms. We also had rice to go with the veggies and the chicken. š

Everything came with two little sauces. I donāt know what they were, but one was really nice. It was a little sweet and sour and you could dip anything in it and it made it good. The other was yellow and spicy and I couldnāt eat it.
To drink I got a lime mint cooler and it was so refreshing! š¹ It was the perfect drink to go with my meal.
I really like the service. The people there were very nice. The lady who took our order was really friendly and she made sure we had everything we needed. The only thing that disappointed me was that I didn't get a fortune cookie at the end. š„ They used to give them out and I always liked reading my fortune.
There were lots more things on the menu that I wanted to try but didnāt get to. Next time I go there, I really want to try the Crispy Shredded Duck Pancakes and the DIY Lettuce Cups.
Overall, I would rate Chop Suey as 3 hearts for kids and 3 hearts for adults. It was a really good experience and I would definitely go back again. The food was delicious and the restaurant looked really pretty. The flower arrangement at the entrance was beautiful and the little orange paper rabbits were a nice touch. I just wish they would give out fortune cookies again. šŖ
I hope everyone had a great Chinese New Year and I wish you all a healthy and happy Year of the Rabbit! š

The process used for this post (written by my father)
This post was created using Chat GPT, MidJourney and Remove.bg
First Astrid wrote her opinions for this post in bullet format
The bullets were then used as a prompt within ChatGPT to create the post.
Astrid edited the text response within ChatGPT by telling it where to add detail, and what details to add. She even told it to add emojis.
Some minor changes were made in word after ChatGPT
Ratings were done manually with the design of the dumplings being created in MidJourney.
The photos in this post have not been enhanced with AI.
Lessons Astrid learned in creating this post:
ChatGPT is easy to use and it remembers context so that as you tell it to do more, it builds with every instruction rather than asking you to start over each time with a full set of instructions
MidJourney is fun and makes crazy images but it doesn't keep context so it's hard to continuously refine images

You describe the food so well I can almost taste it!
Where will you go next?
