Have you tried this French bistro in Paris called Le Minet Galant?

Well you should because their food is traditional and full of flavor and texture that tastes like a food bomb exploding in your mouth! So get your forks and knives ready to dig in this post with me about the bistro Le Minet Galant.

Tuna Niçoise Salad: I’ve had a bunch of salads that were just… lettuce with dressing. But this was the kind of salad that actually felt like a whole meal — and a really good one. The tuna was right in the middle, perfectly cooked with this soft, almost buttery inside and a little sear on the outside. It didn’t taste dry or fishy at all, just like something fresh off the grill. The veggies were super colorful and tasted super fresh, like they were just chopped a second ago. I loved the mix of crunchy lettuce, sweet cherry tomatoes, and those tiny potatoes hiding underneath. There were also anchovies, which I didn’t think I’d like, but they kind of surprised me — salty and tiny but cool with everything else. The eggs were soft in the middle (not too runny, not too hard), and the onions and green onions on top gave it a little bite in a fun way. Honestly, I would order this again without thinking. It’s one of the best salads I’ve had, for sure.

Beef Bourguignon: Okay, this was like a warm, cozy blanket but for your tummy. The beef was soooo juicy and soft — like, you didn’t even need to chew that hard because it just kind of fell apart the second your fork touched it. The sauce was deep and thick and tasted like it had been cooking forever, in the best way. It was rich, kinda fancy, and made the whole thing feel like something you’d eat in a cool Paris restaurant or on a snowy night. The potatoes were soft and soaked up the sauce like little flavor sponges. Every bite had this soft, yummy potato bit with the juicy beef and warm, rich gravy. Oh, and there were little crunchy crouton cubes on top — they were salty and buttery and perfect with the soft stuff underneath. The green onions gave it a tiny bit of freshness too, which I liked.I didn’t finish the whole thing because it was pretty filling, but I definitely wanted to.

Chicken Skewer: This chicken skewer looked kind of simple, but it was actually really packed with flavor. The chicken was cooked just right — soft and tender without being weird or chewy (you know when it gets kind of rubber, well this was not that). The spices on it were super tasty — not spicy-hot, but warm and earthy and made every bite interesting. You could taste the herbs and seasoning even before the lemon hit. And speaking of the lemon, squeezing it over the top added this little sour pop that made everything feel lighter and brighter. It cut through the spices in a fun way.The parsley on top made it look fancy, and it kind of gave it a fresh kick too. It wasn’t a huge dish, but I kinda wished I had more.

Salad Nicoise is my favourite as well! The presentation is always intriguing. In your picture I like that it had symmetry but the presentation was still informal with the hidden potato surprise! You obviously enjoy the good flavours and textures but also the plating! I definitely want to follow-up on your recommendations!
